Infectious Disease: Polio Model - Jennifer Han, Brandon Luo, Aayush Talreja

Key:
Dark Blue Circles: people who are uninfected but not immune
Sky Blue Circles: people who are uninfected and immune
Red Circles: people who are infected with polio
Yellow Circles: people who are immune, uninfected, but paralyzed
Gray Buildings: hospitals that have vaccines and are able to vaccinate people
Blue Square-like Lake: a lake that is contaminated with polio

Caption:
This model shows the spread and life cycle of polio. When a dark blue circle (refer to key) collides with a red circle (refer to key), the dark blue circle is infected with polio and turns red. After a random time between a scaled down 1-2 weeks, the infected people either recover, turning sky blue (refer to key), or pass away, disappearing. When dark blue circles collide with hospitals, they turn sky blue.
In this model you are able to change the level of sanitation of the world, public safety measures, implementation of vaccines, and all the starting numbers of the simulation.
