LiCl, Lithium Chloride
Li + Cl (Lithium + Chlorine)
This is the model of the molecule lithium chloride(LiCl). Lithium Chloride is by bonding one lithium atom with one chlorine atom. Lithium has one valence electron, while chlorine has seven valence electrons, causing both to want to bond together in order to achieve a full octet shell(8 valence electrons).
The red spheres represent lithium atoms, and the yellow spheres represent chlorine atoms. Black spheres represent electrons distributed in the atoms. The blue sphere represents the compound, lithium chloride. The chlorine atom also face towards the lithium atom because it wants to gain the electron more than the lithium wants to lose it(difference in electronegativity values).
