C3H3NaO2 + H2O = C3H5NaO3
This is the basic chemical equation. This is a synthesis equation because the molecule becomes more complicated. The assumption here is that the Sodium Polyacrylate can absorb a single water molecule and increases its size when it absorbs one. Once the Sodium Polyacrylate can absorb no more, it is considered full and is counted in the number of full sodium polyacrylate box. The data from this box is then put into the graph for the y-axis of the second series of the graph. The water molecules is counted in the amount of water data box. The data box then puts the data into the y-axis of the first series. The amount of water correlates to the amount of full sodium polyacrylate.
