This project is designed to be a resource for the "What's It LIke Where You Live?" curriculum developed by the Missouri Botanical Garden. The core premise of that project is that the temperature and precipitation typical for a region favors the survival of some plant and animal species over others. By modifying the "Hospitable Climate" slider, species find the climate more or less hospitable, with an impact on their survival rate.
Beyond basic observations, students can be challenged to find the threshold beyond which a species won't survive.
Note that the species represented here are placeholders. A future version will have more ecologically appropriate choices.
