Using the Central Limit Theorem to predict population proportion

Subject: Statistics
Problem:  Use random samples to predict the proportion of flowers in the field.
Appropriate Grade Level: 10 - 14.
Activity: Students will simulate taking random samples of different sizes in order predict the population proportion.
Questions to investigate:
How does the result compare to the expected value of the population proportion (p') and the standard deviation (the square root of np'q')
How does the sample size (n) affect the prediction of the population proportion?
How does the value of the population proportion affect the prediction of the population portion?

I did a polling program in StarLogo TNG that may be similar to what you're doing: http://education.mit.edu/content/math-unit
